This is part 1 of a crossover series with MARK OF THE BEAST called “Cartoon Modern”. Mark and I start our exploration into this style of cartooning and why it appeals to us. We are using the book “Cartoon Modern” by Amid Amidi, who runs Cartoon Brew and is the editor of Animation Blast magazine, to jump start our series.

I just listened and it made think.
As I kid I loved these cartoons and as I got older I looked “down at them” for being too “simplistic”.
Now I am older and I begin to realize that there is a “style and grace” that these “toons” have that is lacking in more “realistic” looking cartoons that have been created since then…
Looking forward to listening to Part 2 tomorrow…
ArrrOOooo!
