In the last episode before the holiday, Jerzy and Mark discuss things we think comics do better than any other medium, respond to some listener emails and give you a little holiday gift to ring in the new year with.
Here’s some of the examples of spectacular things that comics can do:
Walt Simonson’s Fantastic Four: 1, 2, 3, 4.
Greg Rucka & Steve Lieber’s Whiteout – Melt: 1,2.
Denny O’Neil & Neal Adams’ Green Lantern/ Green Arrow: 1.
Mark Rudolph’s Say it in Slugs: page 27.
Jerzy Drozd’s The Front: Part 2, page 11.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND SMELL GOOD THIS NEW YEAR!

I would sport the scent of Bronson’s OK in a heartbeat. I want to smell like the Mr. Majestyk, a real man’s scent, pulling in the watermelon crop kind of smell.
Actually, a musky melon might not be all that bad…
I don’t know what Sgt. Slaughter’s fragrance would smell like, but I’d wear it even if it smelled like Gambler.
I posted this in the forums, but I want to repeat it here:
As an addendum to this episode, I’d like to clarify something I said during the show. In my response to Shawn Robare’s email, I conclude by saying that I think it’s a good idea to look for more meaning in your entertainment than what may seem apparent, providing that you admit that it’s more meaning than intended by the author. I should’ve said that sometimes you’ll find more meaning, or even alternate meaning, than was intended by the author. I’m sure that many times you’ll find you’re right on target with where the inferential material is pointing, especially if you’re a sharp and insightful guy like Shawn. I happen to be one of the more obtuse kinds of readers/viewers out there, so I often miss the general point, opting instead to make up my own.
Hope I didn’t offend, Shawn.
I feel out the story too. I’ll pace around my kitchen a lot of the times. So your not the only one ^_^. I remember one time my brother walked in on me and said “What. are. you. doing?!” …They just don’t get us. ^^;
